By now from my previous blogs of the Astrology decoded series (I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII,IX,X,XI,XII) you would have understood and realized that Ayurveda and Astrology are simply inseparable. This blog is the final one in this series will pick up my birth chart as an example to help you understand how to read one and apply Ayurvedic and Yogic principles in detail to lead a blissful life through this wonderful tool which was a gift to earth from the higher world.
*** BEING THE LAST ONE IN THE SERIES, THIS IS A DETAILED ONE WHICH NOT ONLY CAPTURES MEDICAL BUT SPIRITUAL ASPECTS AS WELL, SO READING WITH PATIENCE WILL BE THE KEY 🙂
To begin with please have a look at all the houses, the zodiacs/signs/rashis and planets present in them and also the degrees of the planets.
And now let’s begin the analysis :-
**** For absolute clarity and connect, please do keep the picture of this kundli ready for immediate reference.
The first house (also called as Lagna or Ascendant house) which is the most important house has zodiac/sign 10 (i.e. Capricorn). This means the ascendant zodiac (rashi) for me is Capricorn. Incidentally in my case, even the Sun Rashi and Moon Rashi is also Capricorn, since Sun and Moon are also sitting in Lagna (or this rashi) themselves. So, here sun gave me a Pitta mind (representing glutamate- the excitory neurotransmitter) and moon (representing Gaba- the calming neurotransmitter) gave me creativity due to vata nature of moon though with watery kapha (in a way it represents high and equal influence of father and mother on subject’s thinking). And high vata and pitta in mind are bound to create issues due to excess agni. As such, since moon is very close to the sun (check degrees), moon’s calmness got combusted by the sun. So, while the positive side of this combination was that I got a focused, analytical and creative approach, the flip side was that it created a high Rajasic mind (VP – Vata and Pitta) and brought along the diseases associated with it.
*** I urge you to understand traits of a Rajasic mind through this video
***For ideal health, sun and moon should be sitting opposite to each other indicating person born on full moon (where sun and moon influence each other from opposite houses but don’t sit together in the same house) whereas I was born close to a no moon day.
Secondly, Venus within 3 Degrees of the Sun sitting in first house (mind) is again not a good sign from an ayurvedic angle. This is because sourness (represented by Venus) and pungency (sun) should not be consumed (placed) together else they are bound to create very high pitta and create excess of pseudo-kapha (swollen kapha due to sourness and heat). As such, Sun’s effect is quite dominating in my chart since I was born in Uttarashadha nakshatra (constellation) which is again owned by Sun. On ground too, i was fond of eating spicy (sun), sour (venus) and salty (moon) foods.
Also since Saturn is sitting in the fourth house, it is aspecting the first house (Saturn also has 3rd and 10th aspect/drishti apart from the usual 7th aspect of all planets). But this is not good as my Saturn got debilitated due to its presence in the first zodiac i.e. aries (zodiac of mars) and therefore whenever mars (mars represents good blood flow due to exercise/activity/spicy and sour foods) type conditions will increase during its dasha/antardasha/transit, my fourth house (which means heart chakra) will become weak. To put this in a different way, the condition of the fourth house indicates that the Anahat chakra i.e. the spinal area including the heart and lungs is narrower (i.e. vata ridden due to saturn) meaning that it will receive less of blood vis a vis other parts of the body and since mars type conditions increase peripheral blood circulation, it will further reduce blood in the core leading to extremely high vata in this chakra. As such, vata is haywire movement of blood and the heart needs to work more to push blood through it. A weak heart will pump less of blood, thereby increasing vata towards peripherals including the brain thereby further increasing vata towards the mind making it more Rajasic.
Second House (family values etc.)
Rahu (vata due to less blood) in the second house that too in the zodiac owned by Saturn (vata) confirms that this place (face, mouth area) would be high on vata. Moreover, thw mind will further aggravate vata here because the mind itself is high on VP. I also developed hyperthyroidism though for a short time during my Rahu- Rahu phase due to Rahu sitting in the second house compounded by my VP mind (i cured it with magneto-therapy).
The house also gets fifth aspect of Jupiter, however, this will have effect only when Jupiter becomes strong (especially during its mahadasha) which otherwise is weak due to the effect of my VP mind. Generally too, a person born in Capricorn zodiac as in my case, will have Jupiter type conditions (zodiac 9 and 12) outside Kendra and Trikone and will become strong later in life when the damage would have been done to slow down the mind and awaken the conscience.
Third House (siblings etc.)
With Mars sitting in this house in Jupiter’s zodiac (Pisces), I initially had stronger arms vis a vis my body (especially during Mars mahadasha), however, as this house was in proximity with Rahu, this strength got reduced (as Rahu’s dasha began) which further got compounded due to the VP mind (closer to Rahu meaning less blood and closer to ketu meaning more blood).
Fourth house (mother with influence of father from 10th etc.)
Apart from a debilitated Saturn (as mentioned above ⇑), this house is being aspected by Jupiter, however this house got a bit of strength only when Jupiter became strong during its mahadasha and life slowed down reducing mars (physical activity). A VP mind further increased vata of this house. So, while Mars of the third house inspired me to go into the army, its conditions weakened my heart due to Saturn present there (ideally a high VP mind shouldn’t go to army for obvious reasons)
Fifth House (friends etc.)
Though there is no planet here, the lord of fifth house i.e. Venus (of zodiac Taurus) is in first house combusted by the Sun and that’s why my fifth house is also weak. A weak fifth house means a weak pancreas too, thereby affecting the regulation of glutamate (surya nadi) -gaba (Chandra nadi) mechanism leading to even higher pitta towards the brain.
Seventh House (partner etc.)
From medical astrology viewpoint, this house’s lord (moon in my case) or a malefic planet sitting in this house are considered the strongest marakas meaning that during their main period/sub period, they hit the person hardest on health front bringing death/death like circumstances.
Eighth House (occult etc.)
Ketu present here indicates that the native would have gained some knowledge of the occult from the previous lives (on ground too i used to get urge to meditate even as a small child and i learnt meditation at a very early age though it didn’t give me long lasting results due to VP mind and effect of BP medicines which further increased Vata towards the mind). The lord of this house i.e. sun (which means pitta, which gives logic) is in first house indicating that this person’s mind will always be busy in understanding the logic of the matters of the eighth house. This also indicates occult disease- a disease which will not be understood by the modern world and will be understood only by understanding occult sciences. That’s how occult disease leads to knowledge of occult sciences and that’s why the activation of 8th house leads to both (the extent differs from person to person depending upon the extent of disease and the planet/or the lord sitting there). That is how i understood the logic of Ayurveda and Astrology and how different foods/medicines/circumstances acted on my body to create my disease.
Ninth House (fate etc)
The lord of this house is again mercury sitting in the 12th house indicating that it is in the fate of this person to gain understanding on how to get spiritual bliss (Though the journey upwards to bliss will start only after it spirals down represented by ketu in 8th i.e. conscience moving towards the lower chakras. To me it seems that my soul’s software was designed to experience a crash course of moving to lower chakras through rajasic foods/living there and then moving upwards). 7th Aspect of Mars in this house indicates passion and energy to attain this aim. And for understanding this aspect i had to pass through the stage of a high rajasic mind else i wouldn’t have got this occult disease and neither wold have understood occult sciences.
Tenth House (father with influence of mother from 4th house etc.)
Jupiter in this house indicates teaching/counselling/guiding abilities of this person in his/her area of expertise.
Lord of this house i.e. Jupiter is in the 10th house and has gone in the 11th house from itself. This means that learnings of the life will teach me the right way of living during Jupiter phase of life (12th house). Mercury in this house also indicates that this life will teach this person, Buddhi (mercury) to attain bliss and happiness through pains (how can you attain ultimate peace/bliss unless we know what is wrong, and that can be understood only by living through those mistakes/painful experiences). Even ketu’s fifth aspect in this house indicate that the research (subconscious one directed by life’s ups and downs) will be on the occult (attaining bliss) aspects of life.
FINALLY RELATING MY CHART WITH AYURVEDA- HOW FOODS SHAPE OUR DESTINY
To begin with, doshas (in the form of planets) in my chart, clearly indicate that I was born as a vata and pitta personality with Rahu towards brain and debilitated saturn in the heart. However, I was also born in conditions that further aggravated vata and pitta in me, a big factor being the regular intake of vasodilating foods like tea right from the childhood. All this pushed me to have more sour, spicy, salty, sugary foods (representing sun, moon and mars) because a vata mind, being low on blood, asks for such foods to temporarily increase blood circulation/volume for giving a kick to the brain thereby increasing pitta too along with vata. In absence of understanding of the science of Ayurveda and continued usage of tea (thereby further increasing vata), my subconscious dependence on sour, salty, spicy and sugary foods further kept increasing (as i recall today) thereby taking me into a vicious circle. Thus, excess sourness due to pitta and sour foods resulted in me developing high blood pressure early in life due to sourness along with putting extra pressure on my heart due to narrowed blood vessels. Astrologically, it meant that high VP i.e. Rahu in me, was increasing, which further increased during my Rahu period. That is how i got into the trap of allopathic BP medicines (earlier beta blockers and then angiotensin receptor blockers).
*** to know how BP medicines create severe vata imbalance on our body and mind, do read this blog…DANGEROUS SIDE EFFECTS AND WORKING OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINES-MUST READ FOR All
The issues further increased since mars in everyone increases during young age (irrespective of mars period/mahadasha) which further inflated my rahu. While tea had already increased rahu in my upper body vis a vis lower, my high VP mind found solace in other vasodilating foods which were not part of my diet earlier further increasing this vata imbalance (as such liquor is part of army’s lifestyle).
Since BP medicines (instead of right lifestyle) increase vata and vata imbalance (and don’t hit the root cause), I as such being high on vata, faced the side effects of BP medicines much faster/earlier than others and that is how, due to pains and discomfort, I went into an introspective mode, subconsciously reducing my pitta and that’s when my Jupiter (conscience) woke up to make me realize the damages that i had done to my body and mind especially through food and medicine (which exactly coincided with my jupiter’s mahadasha proving the accuracy of Astrology). As mind (and body) slowed down from high VP (rahu) to just high Vata (saturn), I began noticing the subtle effects of any input on my body and mind however, low pitta also reduced my blood circulation taking it towards the core resulting in even higher vata towards peripherals leading to severe Fibromyalgia and associated symptoms. By this time my body and mind had become excessively sensitive due to high vata and i was getting instant results for all my deeds (eating, listening, shouting etc). Infact, this state not only helped me to realize and understand the effects of different tastes and weather conditions etc. to enhance my knowledge of Ayurveda but also of different yogasanas, pranayama and every interaction around including the connection between Ayurveda, Astrology and Spiritualism which helped me manage my otherwise debilitating condition. From Astrology viewpoint, it was the effect of saturn (vata) and very subtle sun (as i couldn’t increase pitta to keep my pains under control) and that is why it is said that Saturn’s phase (especially Sade Sati when saturn becomes very high) brings instant results and in a way is good to settle all your karmic deeds in this life itself.
Today as i write, I know that if my SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, threat- click to know more about SWOT) analysis through my birth chart was carried out especially from Ayurveda perspective, then with the right precautions, I would never have developed hypertension (That’s why during earlier times, birth charts were prepared right at the time of birth). I also know that had Ayurveda intervened to treat my hypertension, right at the time when it was detected, instead of allopathic medicines, I wouldn’t have faced Fibromyalgia (and associated problems) as Ayurveda would have settled the VP of my mind first. In fact a person with the understanding of Ayurveda would have detected these issues by merely observing me (and wouldn’t even need modern scientific ways to detect such diseases). However, this is also the fact that in the absence of these conditions, neither would have I learnt the logic behind Ayurveda, Astrology and other Vedic sciences, nor would have I been able to put it up to this world (latter part is courtesy Jupiter in 10th house). Probably, I was attracting all these conditions as per the directions of the realms from the higher world because of my past life karmas, the level of my soul’s conscience and the objectives of this life for my soul . In fact, I literally heard my objective from my masters during my past life regressions when i was clueless about my life. It was that “I will have to undergo pain for healing others”. And that is why I present my heartfelt thanks to every person in my life- known or unknown to me, who helped in creating every condition in my life for widening my horizon 🙂
TO SUM UP:-
(A) GENETICS IS NOTHING BUT FOOD AND OTHER KARMIC CHOICES THAT WE AND OUR NEAR ONES MAKE IN OUR LIFE AND THE EFFECT OF COLLECTIVE CONSCIENCE ON EACH OTHER DUE TO THESE CHOICES,
(B) BY CHANGING THESE CHOICES WE CAN CHANGE GENETICS (GENES DON’T DECIDE OUR BLOOD FLOW, ITS RATHER THE OTHER WAY ROUND AND SCIENCE HAS BEGUN TO AGREE THAT EVEN EXERCISE CHANGES OUR GENES),
(C) THE EFFECT OF FOODS ON FLOW AND QUALITY OF BLOOD (I.E. GENETICS) ON AN INDIVIDUAL STARTS MUCH BEFORE HE/SHE IS BORN OR EVEN CONCEIVED, THROUGH THE PARENTS AND THEREFORE MORE THAN FINANCIAL STABILITY, PARENTS SHOULD FOCUS ON THEIR HEALTH (MENTAL AS WELL AS PHYSICAL) BEFORE CONCEIVING A CHILD,
(D) FINALLY TO KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT AND WRONG FOR US, WE MUST HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OF AYURVEDA AND A SETTLED MIND FOR IMPLEMENTING IT.
With the hope, that these learnings including explanation of Vedic concepts in contemporary language captured in THE ROOT CAUSE book, these blogs and the YouTube videos will uplift the collective conscience of the world to another level and will widen it’s horizon to write another chapter of knowledge, I sign off.
