How Moon creates seven Dhatus in our body- Ayurveda and Astrology

We Know that out of the seven Dhatus (tissues) only Rasa and Rakta (interstitial fluid and blood) are movable which create rest of the tissues that are more or less fixed at their place except that part of them (i.e. of rest of the five tissues) circulate through Rasa and Rakta in the body. Thus it is the direction of flow of Rasa and Rakta that creates firm tissues thereby creating a firm flow of direction in the channels created by those firm tissues. These channels can be visualized as rigid pipes with gradient towards one direction that ensures that most of nutrition that we eat moves more towards a specific direction thereby creating more Kapha there vis a vis other places. Higher the gradient, more the difference between density of tissues in two different points in the body thereby creating more Vata imbalance with higher Vata where less tissues are present. This is why Moon’s position in the birth chart is considered extremely important in Astrology as it determines the flow of Rasa (through gravitational pull) which in turn determines the density of Kapha in different parts of the body. Of course in turn, it is affected by other forces/planets which can be seen in the birth chart.

*** Since Rasa creates tissues, the ever changing position of Moon in the sky keeps pushing Rasa in different directions and thus building tissues too in other places where Rasa moves. This is over and above the deep seated tissues due to Moon’s position in the birth chart. This doesn’t mean that tissues degrade immediately when Rasa moves away from their area. Instead they stay there and get nourishment again when rasa returns there when moon returns to the same position in the sky. It is like gush of water creates caves in the earth and those caves stay even if water has receded from there. However, if those caves do not get nourishment for long from flowing water then sooner or later they do begin to lose their shape and strength which in human body refers to Vata. Now if Pitta is too high (Mars) then it will push Rasa with force creating deep caves (channels in our body), however if Rasa is less (due to poor/mal nutrition i.e. not sumptuous sweet taste from nutrition perspective), then lot of channels will remain hungry for too long due to hollowness resulting in excess Vata/confusion. That’s why excess pungency (Mars) with relatively less rasa is bad.

*** Rahu and Ketu which are formed due to gravitational differences created by different alignments between moon’s orbital plane and earth’s orbital plane, represent nothing but the extent of this Vata imbalance only.

In other words, the initial position of Rasa creates a firm structure which contributes to Prakriti. And if Prakriti itself is distorted then little can be done to undo it which is why right Yogasana etc. can avoid wrong (distorted) Prakriti from developing. This is because Asanas assisted by Pranayama and mantra can redirect the flow of rasa in the body by pushing rigid channels/tissues in the desired direction. Lesser the rigidity (which is so in forming years) easier it is to undo. This also means that vikruti in Prakriti (not when the Prakriti itself is distorted) can definitely be undone with right therapeutics.

Some more important visualizations connected to the above mentioned phenomenon are:

*** Since Vikruti creates a specific flow of rasa in the channels (vis-à-vis Prakriti), it is vikruti of the parents at the time of conception that becomes the Prakriti of the next generation. That is why it is so important for parents to follow a good and healthy diet and lifestyle and undo any doshic imbalance through Ashtang Yoga for which they would need to consult a holistic healer with deep knowledge of Ayurveda, pulse diagnosis, Yoga and Astrology, unless the couple has evolved and is self-administered by being good on Vedic knowledge- which is a trait of every being in Satyuga.

*** Pitra dosha mentioned in Astrology is nothing but the passing down of the doshic imbalances from one generation to another which manifest in form of diseases as well as behavioural issues and one must follow Vedic lifestyle to avoid accumulation of doshic imbalances and their passage to the next generation else we are bound to face the consequences as we are born as our own grand grand children and reap the fruits of our own karma.

*** The question comes that can one avoid transfer of genetic abnormalities/diseases (i.e. Vikruti in the Prakriti itself) to the next generation. Yes, it is possible. Here is how… There is no doubt that Vikruti in Prakriti means blood/rasa flow not in line with the deepest channels of the body resulting in discomfort in the native (extent would differ). However, Vikruti in Prakriti of the native may be healthy for the next generation. Let us take an example. A person may have excess Rahu and Ketu in one’s birth chart resulting in excess of gradient of rasa towards one side of the body. Let us assume it creates excess Vata towards stomach (which is the first house of the child and determines the Prakriti of the child). However, if this person consumes medicines/foods and/or does Asanas to push rasa towards stomach thereby repairing it, then this will undo the excess Vata of this house (deepest Prakriti of the child) thereby avoiding transfer of excess Vata in the system of the child. This is the reason that many a times, certain diseases even if genetic in nature, do not pass down from one generation to another (though this happens by chance and not by design). However, by learning astrology and pulse diagnosis at deeper levels, one can avoid passage of diseases in the next generation/s.
