Analyzing the Birth Chart of Shri Manmohan Singh, the ex PM of Bharat (India)

This blog will discuss the birth chart of Late Shri Manmohan Singh, the ex PM of India. As per the data available on the internet on various websites, he was born on 26th September, 1932 in Jhelum district at 2:00 pm which more or less fits his constitution and milestones of his life. Here is the screenshot of his birth chart and the analysis.

The lord of the first house i.e. Jupiter being lord of 9th (Sagittarius) is parked in 9th house (of Prarabdh Karma/fate brought forward) with Ketu in Leo zodiac. This shows that his soul was born with the aim to gain knowledge (Jupiter) with research oriented focus (ketu). Since Leo’s owner is parked in Sun with exulted Mercury in 10th house of profession.  It shows that this research oriented knowledge will be used in his profession (10th house) to gain heights and authority (Sun) and Sun being close to exulted mercury in 10th shows  that the profession will be mercury oriented i.e. related to calculation,  analysis etc., which we know is absolutely true as his area of expertise was economics.

Here we must understand that while Sun is combusting his exulted mercury, its heat (Pitta in Ayurveda) is being controlled by coldness (Vata in Ayurveda) of Saturn’s tenth aspect, as Saturn is sitting very close to the Lagna’s degree and is therefore virtually parked in first house. Saturn in this position in its own zodiac also shows that he had a very difficult time during his childhood especially economically. Rahu (desire) in third house (of Karma) in 11th zodiac of Saturn (service) shows that his karmic desire will be to do service to people. It also shows that  while he had a slightly loud and chaotic neighborhood and childhood friends (3rd house), his focus of attaining knowledge never got distracted (first lord in 9th house as mentioned above). Even fourth house’s  (hearts) lord i.e. Jupiter is also parked with Ketu represented that his heart and brain both were focused on one aspect.

*** From medical perspective, it shows an inward circulation of blood flow in heart as well as  brain. This is the reason that he was a heart patient and had to undergo bypass and other operations as Ketu causes obstructive blood flow which got aggravated due to presence of swollen tissues/cells/lipids etc (Kapha in Ayurvedic terms and Jupiter in Astrological term) creating further obstruction in his blood vessels and other channels. This also caused breathlessness in him especially during his Jupiter Mahadasha during which he passed away at the age of 92.  Saturn in early house with Rahu in third indicates excess hollowness/vata in the neck area including quietness which is in line with his reticence plus the fact that he had cervical spondylosis issues. 

Now here we must understand that Ketu people are great masters of their own skill as their focus is inwards however they are not jack of all trades. On the other hand, Rahu personalities are jack of all trades with wide angle approach and that is what is needed at a leadership role so that one is able to focus on all aspects to run his/her organization or country in this case (please note that for the evolution of the world both the personalities are needed but in their own roles).  That is why being a strong Ketu personality, while he was a great economist who proved his mettle in bringing several economic reforms in the country, however his tenure as the PM of the country did not display much of leadership skills as he was an extremely introspective/ introvert personality whose focus even during Prime minister ship, remained primarily towards his area of expertise i.e. economy of the country. This was also the reason that his tenure saw many scams as due to his constitution,  he was unable to have a wide angle focus.

Now the lord of 7th house for a Dwiswabhav rashi (dual nature zodiac) i.e. 3,6,9 or 12 zodiac in Lagna/ascendant, is considered to be Badhkesh (the one that brings obstacles). In this case, since he has a dual zodiac (9th) in first house, the lord of 7th house i.e. mercury is Badhkesh for him. And his Badhkesh is sitting in his 10th house. 7th house not represents spouse but also close partners whether from business, social, behavioral, political etc. This means that the intellect or Budhi (mercury) from his close partners will create obstacles in his professional career though subsequently he will sail through. This can be related to his professional career especially as the PM of the country when his working was in limelight and he was being guided by his close advisors/partners.

Fifth house lord i.e. Mars is posted in 7th house (in chalit chart as Mars is just at 10 degrees and due to lagna at 24 degrees, it shifts from 8th to 7th in chalit. This shows that that native is likely to go for a love marriage which is true on ground too. Venus with moon in 8th house shows intense relationship and also love for luxury however Saturn’s straight aspect especially on moon (sanyasi yoga) will keep the same in control.

Milestones as per Mahadashas (planetary periods)

Mr. Singh became the PM during and till the end of Rahu’s MD. Rahu brings expansion of consciousness whereas Ketu halts expansion which is equally essential for inner churning of the life lived so far for bringing out higher level of knowledge/understanding of life in the areas of the aspect where Sun and its zodiac is posted. However, the problem with Rahu for a Ketu personality is that it pushes one to work against one’s own constitution as Ketu likes to stay in ones’ cocoon hence Rahu MD for such a person is bad at inner health level even though materialistically it may show prosperity to others. Conversely, Ketu MD or Ketu transit in upper houses for a Rahu personality is too restricting and creates the feeling of being in a jail. In simple words, PM ship for him would not have been an internally satisfying period even though he was not able to speak it out because of the post he was holding and the Rahu personalities that were guiding him to handle this post.

Early in life, just after end of  Ketu MD, he finished is Masters in economy. Ketu helped him understand his subject well to make him an expert.  1971, he joined Govt of India just before Sun’s MD. Sun gets Govt service. During his Moon’s MD, he got relatively cooler appointments though his moon is posted with Mars making his rasa/interstitial fluids hot which are signified by moon. This in a way stimulated his body to further expand going against his  basic nature of Ketu thereby expanding his cells and creating health issues in him during Mars period. His bypass took place in 1990 when Mars MD began. This period also made him the finance minister of the country.
