What if the world learns to predict catastrophes like earthquakes and tsunamis? It will be able to save millions of precious lives and also avoid huge economical losses. Vedic sciences had provided us with that tool and that is Astrology which in Sanskrit refers to Jyotish whose literal meaning is that Ish (lord) who shows us the light (jyoti). Like Ayurveda and other sciences of Vedic times, even Jyotish has begun to resurge and gain ground and popularity especially in the 21st century however as of now the scope of Jyotish has primarily remained confined to studying individual birth charts. However, the fact is that since Jyotish foretells events basis the energy signatures of the globe, it can predict and accurately predict even the global events like Tsunamis and earthquakes.
This blog will discuss the energy signatures of Tsunami that struck the world on 26th Dec 2004 with epicenter near Java island of Indonesia. By the end of the blog, those who have even basic knowledge of Astrology, will be able to understand how to predict such events including their intensity.
Lets begin… Tsunami of 2004 was triggered by a massive earthquake that happened at 07:58 am around Java Island of Indonesia. The earthquake measuring 9.3 that triggered this massive tsunami killed more than 2 lakh 27 thousand people and affected millions and was rated as the deadliest natural disaster of the 21st century. The position of the planets at the time of this event was as captured below which can also be understood as the birth chart of that event (I have used Astrosage software to create the birth chart and the other divisional charts).
Now the Kaalpurush chart of any event is created by keeping Aries as the number one house as Aries represents the beginning of time being zodiac number 1. Accordingly, the chart on the right down below (henceforth called as Kaalpurush chart) has been created by rotating the birth chart on the left down below.

Here we see the following factors in the Kaalpurush chart that created massive Earthquake and Tsunami :
Factor One
The lord of the first zodiac (and house) i.e. Mars has gone to the 8th house in its own zodiac i.e. 8th zodiac of Scorpio that is owned by mars. Now Mars represents, high energy or say high Voltage or speed of energy or high Pitta in Ayurvedic terms. Thus, on this day, there was a lot of energy flowing across the entire globe. Remember that the energy of Mars becomes even stronger when it falls in its own zodiac. 8th zodiac also represents underground layer. Hence Mars in 8th represents lot of energy building up underground.
Factor two is presence of Rahu (the shadowy planet) in Aries. Created by the movement of moon around earth and also influenced by the gravity of the Sun, Rahu can be visualized as the top of the fountain where water is splashing outwards and upwards and is less dense. Since Aries represents the energy of Mars which is high on energy, presence of Rahu in Aries represents excess upsurge of energy as it pierces through less dense Rahu thereby pushing it upwards and outwards at a great force. Presence of Mars in its own zodiac on that day, further added to this energy built up.
Factor three is full moon on that day with Sun and Moon sitting in opposite houses. Full moon and no moon further increase the force of gravity on earth and its fluids due to compounding effect of Sun, moon and earth falling in the same line.
Factor four is lord of 4th house i.e. moon (which affects all the water element on earth due to its gravity) is parked in 3rd house in 3rd zodiac of Gemini i.e. 12th house from itself. This means that moon or water element will be immensely affected by high energy of Mars because Moon is parked in Mriga Nakshatra owned by Mars. Mriga nakshatra refers to that energy where the object shakes/moves like head of a deer. On this day, water the element governed by Moon shook literally like the head of a deer in different directions. As such a planet travelling to its twelfth house means that its energy will pierce through all the zodiacs which at global level means affecting the entire globe (even though the intensity will vary from place to place).
Factor five- Compounding effect of divisional charts
The divisional charts of Astrology are the microscopic charts that capture the energy of the specific place (time) in question. These are also called as harmonics as they are like waves mounting on the main wave of energy of the main birth chart. Different place/time have different harmonics on the same day even if the birth chart of that day is same. As such after every two hours the birth chart of the same day moves ahead by a zodiac because 24 hrs consist of 12 zodiacs. Of course, lagna (the ascendant) which refers to the exact point of the zodiac rising from the east at the time of birth of a person or an event also keeps shifting within the same zodiac or from one zodiac to the next one depending on the time of the event.
For example, d9 which is Navmansha chart of human being represents that energy which the human being already possesses at the time of conception due to genes inherited from the parents and their parents and so on. The calculation of D9 (which is another topic in itself) involves dividing each house in 9 equal parts and then placing planets in them as per the sequence and degrees of planets posted in main birth chart. Similarly, D3 represents the energy received by the native primarily from the people of the 3rd house i.e. childhood friends, neighbors but not confined to them as 3rd house also refers to karma which is also influenced by karma of relatives (close and distant ones).
In simple words, divisional charts represent the deeper layer of energies in different layers of the native or the specific place in question. In ayurvedic language, divisional charts refer to the deeper doshas/faults on which the other doshas indicated by higher div charts deposit. Thus, if the deep layers have a specific dosha then the next layer even if of a different nature will be impacted by the deeper layer. This is why div charts refer to the nature of the genes inherited by the native. Now refer to different divisional charts of this event as under. For sake of retaining their original position, I have not rotated these charts to create their kaalpurush charts which you can do (or visualize) by placing first zodiac i.e. Aries in the first house.

As you can see that in D3, D4 and D7, the conditions of Rahu and mars and even Moon are astonishingly similar to that of D1 that created earthquake like conditions. D7 too has Rahu in Aries with its lord Mars in Gemini rashi which is Airy rashi with heat too (Vata Pitta in Ayurvedic language).
Even in D9 i.e. Navmansha chart,
Rahu is as such placed in the first house and moon is debilitated in the 8th zodiac making it move haywire. Mars is placed in a supporting zodiac of Sun and is placed in the kendra thereby further fueling the energies of Rahu Ketu and moon in kendra. All these energies of different div charts of the specific place in question added fuel to the fire thereby compounding the intensity of the earthquake that created a massive Tsunami.
Last but not the least, Astrology’s only aim is to bring bliss in this world by course correction and not fuel greed, superstition and vices. This is the reason that medical astrology (which is incomplete without Ayurveda) must become an intrinsic part of Astrology so that it shows light to humanity to move in the right direction and move back to Satyuga which is why it is rightly called as Jyotish. In nutshell Jyotish is a tool which has been given by the higher world for us to continuously know our energy signatures with respect to each other and self for a continued harmony between each other and within self.
